yeah thats what i used it for, but if your going to do graphics like jv does not just like edit them.

Yeah GIMPS the best thing youll get to Photoshop for FREE 
Its what i use. I love it to bits ^^ Takes a little getting used to though. I suggest reading loads of tuts before actually trying to make a sig or its a very steep learning curve lol.
